Landausflüge in Seward

Explore the only cold-water research and marine rehabilitation centre in Alaska during this scenic and informative, self-guided sightseeing excursion to the Alaska SeaLife Centre.
Seward, Alaska SeaLife Centre, Self-Guided Tour
Depart the pier via private transport for the short drive to the Alaska SeaLife Centre. Opened in 1998, it is Alaska's premier public aquarium and the only cold-water research and marine rehabilitation centre in the state. The mission of the Alaska SeaLife Centre is to provide interactive education with the marine animals it rescues. Operating as a designated marine mammal 'stranding centre' within a marine research facility enables veterinarians and staff to learn a great deal about these animals during the rehabilitation process. Upon arrival, take a self-guided tour of this captivating venue, which offers a unique opportunity to discover how the centre rescues, treats, and releases stranded, injured, and abandoned animals back into the wild.
Puffins, Migratory Birds, Harbour & Fur Seals, Stellar Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Octopus, Jellyfish
During your visit, you can also view and photograph diverse species of marine mammals, seabirds, fish, and invertebrates, some of which have been listed as 'threatened' or 'endangered' species. Included are puffins, migratory birds, harbour and fur seals, Stellar sea lions, sea otters, octopus, jellyfish, and other species experiencing population declines in Alaska. You are welcome to spend as much time as you would like exploring the Alaska SeaLife Centre. Afterward, you can stop by the gift shop to browse for a memento of your visit, then board the next shuttle for the short drive back to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair; elevators and escalators are available. Experience the pristine natural splendour and wildlife of Resurrection Bay from up-close during this picturesque, half-day sightseeing cruise.
Seward, Boat Harbour, Resurrection Bay, Kenai Fjords, Seabirds, Sea Lions, Whales, Otters
Depart the pier for the short non-guided transfer to a small boat harbour, and your awaiting boat. Upon arrival, embark the vessel and begin your panoramic journey through Resurrection Bay, located in Kenai Fjords National Park. Whilst gliding along the calm, protected waters and rugged coastline of the bay, marvel at the massive bird rookeries and sea lion colonies, and stop along the way to view passing whales and otters.
Chugach & Kenai Mountain Ranges, Bear Glacier
Next, marvel at alpine glaciers tucked in the surrounding Chugach and Kenai mountains and cruise by Bear Glacier, a piedmont glacier and the largest glacier inside Kenai Fjords National Park.
